Indonesia Opens First University AI Technology Center in Yogyakarta
785BUniversitas Gadjah Mada, Indosat, NVIDIA, and Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs launched the UGM Indosat NVIDIA AI Technology Center in Yogyakarta, the country's first university-based AI technology center, to develop local AI talent and address national priorities. The center provides researchers and students access to NVIDIA's AI platform and GPU Merdeka, Indosat's sovereign GPU-as-a-service offering, along with enterprise-grade computing resources and mentorship. Three initial projects focus on healthcare (eNose-TB breath screening for tuberculosis detection in rural areas), agriculture (SmartAgri for precision farming using satellite imagery and sensor data), and disaster preparedness (Tech4Disaster for geospatial AI processing of satellite data).

Firebird launches CIS region's largest AI factory in Armenia
519BFirebird opened the CIS region's largest AI factory in Armenia, powered by NVIDIA accelerated computing and Dell Technologies infrastructure. The facility will deploy over 70,000 NVIDIA Rubin and Blackwell GPUs and 300 megawatts of capacity by end of 2027. Firebird plans to expand its global infrastructure across Armenia, Kazakhstan and other markets with approximately 2 gigawatts of capacity, supported by NVIDIA investments. The facility was completed in over six months and counts Perplexity as an early customer.
