KIT scientists receive €1.5M grants for cancer therapy and biotechnology research
The Carl Zeiss Foundation has awarded €1.5 million each to two young scientists at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) through its CZS Nexus program. Dr. Laura Marie Helleckes will investigate how to transfer biotechnology processes from laboratory to industrial production using AI and lab automation to identify scaling problems earlier in development. Dr. Bianca Schacherl will develop new X-ray spectromicroscopic methods to analyze radioactive isotopes used in cancer diagnosis and treatment at the nanometer level.
