Hubble and Webb observe Cat's Head Nebula star-forming region

The NASA/ESA Hubble and James Webb Space Telescopes have observed a star-forming region within the Carina Nebula, approximately 7,500 light-years from Earth, nicknamed the Cat's Head Nebula. Hubble's visible-light imagery shows the nebula as a dark dust pillar with hints of young stars and a glowing red eye, while Webb's infrared images reveal many hidden stars and intricate dust structures. The nebula's distinctive shape has likely been sculpted by ultraviolet radiation and stellar winds from massive stars in the Carina Nebula.
