eGovernment MONITOR 2026: Digital government satisfaction high, awareness and completion rates low
The eGovernment MONITOR 2026, a representative survey by Initiative D21 and the Technical University of Munich conducted by Kantar, found that 81 percent of people who handled their most recent government matter entirely or partially online were satisfied, compared to 64 percent who used entirely offline methods. However, only 15 percent of respondents feel that modern digital government meets their expectations, and only about one in four people can complete their request entirely online. According to the survey, many people are unaware that digital services are available for their needs, cannot find them, or are unable to complete processes entirely online, with additional obstacles including mobile usability shortcomings and digital identification hurdles.
