Cambridge researchers awarded European Research Council Starting Grants

The European Research Council awarded €705 million in Starting Grants to 421 early-career researchers across Europe, supporting projects in life sciences, engineering, social sciences, and humanities. Three Cambridge researchers received grants: Dr Stefano Racioppi from Materials Science and Metallurgy, Dr Jon Roozenbeek from Psychology, and Dr Grégoire Vernaz from Genetics. A record 4,807 proposals were submitted to the competition, with only 8.8% funded; the grants are estimated to create more than 2,700 jobs in the grantees' teams.
