Cambridge researchers elected Fellows of Royal Academy of Engineering
Professor Clemens Kaminski and Professor Duncan McFarlane of the University of Cambridge were among 75 leading figures elected as Fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering. Kaminski, Professor of Chemical Physics and Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, was recognised for contributions to advanced optical imaging and sensor technologies and research using light to study chemical processes in applications ranging from clean energy to pharmaceutical research. McFarlane, Professor of Industrial Information Engineering, works on manufacturing automation and digital systems in industrial supply chains, and leads the Digital Manufacturing on a Shoestring programme investigating how low-cost digital technologies can support growth in small and medium-sized enterprises.
